Augustyński

Hails from a family with traditions of patriotism and social activism, a nephew of Jan Augustyński, the initiator of Polish education in the Gdańsk region, Zygmunt Augustyński , the father of the modern Polish press, and Stanisław Augustyński – Senior Treasurer and Member of Parliament in the Second Republic of Poland; a retired vocational teacher at the Electric Motors Facility in Tarnów, an activist of NSZZ Solidarity, branch president of Catholic Action in Tarnów. Promoter of local history and tradition, social activist, amateur poet. Awarded the Honoris Gratia Decoration of Merit by the Mayor of the City of Kraków. Donated the family estate to develop a holiday care centre for children in Odporyszów. Actively supports the construction of the modern children’s home in Odporyszów.

Father Professor Władysław

Roman Catholic priest, missionary of St Vincent de Paul, professor of theology, lecturer at the Institute of Theology in Kraków in 1969–1975 and from 1982, its Vice Rector in 1969–1973, head of seminarians in 1971–1973, later superior of the house, rector, and lecturer at the Episcopal Seminary in Gdańsk-Oliwa (1973–1982), inspector of the Polish Province of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) in 1982–1988, superior and parish priest of the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in 1991–1994, and later the Father Superior of the Vincentian House in Kraków’s Kleparz. Vincentego a Paulo w Polsce” (literally: “Missionaries of St Vincent de Paul in Poland”) – editor of Vols I and II, Ludwika de Marillac i Vincenty a Paulo Volume I (translation from the French), “Zgromadzenie Sióstr Miłosierdzia św. Buczek

Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Kraków University of Technology (PK), a long term employee and member of the Supervisory Board at Inwestprojekt in Katowice. An entrepreneur in the construction market, initiator of Usługi Projektowe Architekt – a business operating for over 20 years in Silesia. Involved in social action for the terminally ill and disabled. One of the founders of the DEMOS Foundation for Social Development. An honorary member of the Hospice in Chorzów. Recipient of the Otwarte Serce / Open Heart award for the operation of the Chorzów-based Stowarzyszenie na Rzecz Rodziny (Association supporting families). Participates enthusiastically in the life of SIEMACHA and supports the Association financially. Has participated in the renovation of the building in ul. Długa in Kraków. Designer and construction supervisor of the centre in Zubrzyca Dolna. Involved in the construction of the children’s home in Odporyszów.

Teresa
Drewniak

Graduate of the Faculty of Music of the Jagiellonian University. Long-term President of the Kraków Foundation for the Art of Ballet, for 22 years President of the Kraków Women’s Club bringing together ladies representing various arts and sciences. Connected to SIEMACHA from its earliest days, she was among the Association’s founding members. A supporter and lobbyist for the concept of the Association among cultural and academic circles in Kraków and in Poland generally. Member of the Supervisory Committee for two years. Actively comments on the activities undertaken by the Association and participates in the current events of our organisation.

Zbigniew
Jagiełło

President of the Board of PKO Bank Polski SA. Member of the Council of the Union of Polish Banks, and of the prestigious Institut International D’Etudes Bancaires bringing together the international banking world. Awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (Order of Rebirth of Poland) by the President of the Republic of Poland and the Medal of Social Solidarity for the promotion of corporate social responsibility. Chosen President of the Year 2011 by Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet. Recipient of Wektor 2011 awarded by the Jury of the Pracodawcy RP employee organisation, and of the Złoty Bankier / Golden Banker award in the category of Personality of the Year 2011. Manager of the Year 2011 in a competition run by Gazeta Bankowa. In 2012, he was awarded the title of Top 20 Manager at a time of crisis by Bloomberg Businessweek Polska. In 2013, Jagiełło received a special Banking Sector Innovator 2012 prize from the Miesięcznik Finansowy Bank” monthly. Man of the Year 2013 of Brief monthly, and Visionary of 2013 of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Vice-President of the Programme Council of the PKO BP Foundation set up in 2010 on his initiative. Since 2011, has stalwartly supported the operation of SIEMACHA. Initiator of joint training projects for PKO BP and SIEMACHA staff. Involved in the construction of the modern children’s home in Odporyszów.

The Late Krzysztof
Kozłowski

Graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin, where he studied philosophy. Connected to the circles of Tygodnik Powszechny Catholic weekly, whose deputy editor-in-chief he was from 1965 to 2007; former President of the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation. In 1990, he stood at the helm of the State Security Office (UOP), and later, in 1990–1991, was Minister for Internal Affairs in the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki. Senator of the Republic of Poland for four terms. Awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (Order of Rebirth of Poland), the General Stefan Rowecki “Grot” Honorary Award, and the Honoris Gratia Award for services rendered to Kraków. In his capacity as member of the Council of Founders of the Kraków Foundation for Social Communication, Krzysztof Kozłowski helped SIEMACHA obtain funds from the Foundation for the construction of the Assembly Hall and its multimedia equipment. He supported the Association by promoting its ideas in Kraków and throughout Poland. He died on 26th March 2013 in Kraków. Expressing our gratitude for the time and effort he devoted to our Association, we posthumously awarded Krzysztof Kozłowski with the title of an Honorary Member.

Aleksander
"Makino" Łodzia-Kobyliński

A colourful figure on the Kraków stage, singer and guitarist, he received education at the Father Siemaszko Educational Facility at ul. Długa 42 in Kraków. The oldest living pupil of the Educational Facility who today regularly meets people in the care of the SIEMACHA Association, sharing tales from the days when Father Kazimierz Siemaszko CM was an active teacher. “‘Makino’ Kobyliński is the personification of the many years of history of our organisation. He is the person from whom I heard for the first time the expressions that are so well known today – ‘I come from SIEMACHA’ and ‘we’re going to SIEMACHA’”, said Father Andrzej Augustyński CM. Founder and leader of the Andrusy band promoting the folklore of Kraków’s Zwierzyniec district and ardent supporter of Cracovia. ‘Makino’ Kobyliński is also the author of the lyrics to the song Cracovia, also known as Z mariackiej wieży / From St Mary’s Tower, which used to be the club’s anthem.

Stanisław
Łukasik

A Polish entrepreneur operating in the development and construction market, creator of INTER-BUD. Łukasik. He started his business activity in 1989 by setting up a renovation and construction company, and later a warehouse for construction materials in Kraków. Currently a developer, producer of PVC windows, and aluminium façade systems. Given the Honoris Gratia Merit Award by the Mayor of the City of Kraków. INTER-BUD won the title of Residential Developer of the Year in Kraków in 2010, 2008, 2006, and 2004. A reliable entrepreneur and a man of exceptional social conscience, he persistently gives financial support to the Association, at the same time participating actively in the life of our community. He has made significant contributions to the renovation of the SIEMACHA building at ul. Długa 42 in Kraków. Key partner supporting the construction of the children’s home in Odporyszów.

Cardinal Franciszek
Macharski

Involved in the operation of the SIEMACHA Association from its earliest days. It would be difficult to overestimate the aid and support from the Cardinal without whom the Association would not have been able to develop so vibrantly, especially in the 1990s in the earliest days of its operation. Father Macharski was anointed priest on 2nd April 1950 by Cardinal Prince Adam Stefan Sapieha. In 1970–1978, he was Rector of the Higher Seminary of Theology in Kraków. After the election of Karol Wojtya to the Chair of St Peter, Father Franciszek became the Metropolitan Bishop of Kraków. During martial law he fought for the rights of the internees and their families and in 1981, after the attempted assassination of John Paul II, he supported the organisers of the famous White March. Knight of the Order of the Smile awarded by children and honorary citizen of numerous cities, he has received honorary doctorates from the Jagiellonian University and the Academy of Catholic Theology (ATK) in Warsaw among others. For activity in support of Polish-German conciliation he was awarded the Grand Order of Merit with Star of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by Johannes Rau, President of Germany, in 2000, and in recognition of his long-term activity in support of Polish French cooperation, in 2007 he was made an Officer of the Order of the Legion of Honour.

Polish entrepreneur active in the development sector, founder of Comdevelopment, Interimpex, and Gemini Holding. Operates in numerous industries including IT, pharmaceuticals, books, and development. Quad driver participating in all-terrain rallies, six times champion of Poland in the Enduro Cup category, current world champion in the FIM Cross-Country class on ATVs, regular participant in the Dakar Rally, captain of the Polish cross-country team. A philanthropist involved in the operation of educational and ecological organisations. He has financed the SIEMACHA Association for many years. Co-author of the SIEMACHA in Commercial Centres project. Built a modern site in Kraków on which the SIEMACHA Spot Gemini Park could operate and made it available to children.
